Library - a Matter of Public

Events take place on the occasion of the 100 years anniversary of the Czechoslovakia establishment, in close connection of the 100. anniversary of the first library law from 1919.

The initial presentation on global works and trends will be performed by PhDr. Vít Richter, director of the National Library CR Librarianship Institute.

Across the Czech Republic, we are discussing the importance, contemporary and future role of public libraries for the community in general sense of the strategic regional development, the importance of a safe public space, which the libraries offer and their role in the lifelong learning and about balancing regional disparities. All this in natural continuity to goals, directions and projects leasing to fulfilling the Library Development Concept in the Czech Republic for years 2017 - 2020.
